Membership is restricted to those active or
retired, Special Police Officers, armed or unarmed, security officers, security guards, security
couriers, public safety officers, law enforcement officers, peace officers, detention counselors, custodian officers,
Correction Officers or other employees charged with the custody, protection and/or
transportation of people and/or property or, as supervisors, with the orderly
administration of such security services, who are employed in the United
States of America under any of the separate laws of either the United
States or any of its states and other appropriate groups. Our current union
membership locals include armored car guards, hospital security
officers, and federal and state facility security officers.

Authorization
for Representation form -
Authorizes UFSPSO to represent you in collective bargaining.
Groups of security officers interested in becoming a local bargaining
unit of UFSPSO must submit Authorization for Representation forms for at
least 2/3 of the employees in the group in order for UFSPSO to apply to
the NLRB for certification as the exclusive collective bargaining
representative for the employees in the group.
Dues are established by the Board of
Directors of the Federation and authorized by a majority of the Delegate
body at the Annual Meeting.
A. Active members of
a Federation local bargaining unit -
The
current dues entitle such members to
all collective bargaining and legal services set forth in the Federation
Legal Services Plan, and to all voting rights set forth in the
Federation By-Laws. Such members will also receive the Federation
news and will be eligible to participate in all Federation welfare
benefit programs under the costs, terms and provisions of those programs.

B. Employees included in a
Federation local bargaining unit who decide not to join the union -
Such employees receive the benefits and protections of bargaining unit
membership and shall pay, each pay period, to the Federation a contract
maintenance fee which shall be an amount of money equal to the amount
paid by active Federation members under Section A above. The
contract maintenance fee is equal to the amount paid by active
Federation members so as to reflect the equal services rendered to and
benefits received by all members of the bargaining unit local.
This contract maintenance fee shall entitle such non-member bargaining
unit employees to representation under the collective bargaining
agreement, and to all employment-related legal services
set forth in the Federation Legal Services Plan. Such non-member
bargaining unit employees shall have no voting rights relating to
ratification and/or amendment of the collective bargaining agreement,
but shall have no voting rights relating to Federation union business.

C. Retired members and
individual active members who are not part of a Federation local
bargaining unit -
The
current dues are $26.00 per year and entitle such members to all voting
rights set forth in the Federation By-Laws, as well as the Personal
Legal Services offered at a reduced rate through the Federation Legal
Services Plan. They will also receive the Federation newsletter
and will be eligible to participate in all Federation welfare benefit
programs under the costs, terms and provisions of those programs.
